Hey there daveweng,

there are alot of things to consider if you want to go for the conversion. But if power is what you want ( and conversion is the way you want to go ), try getting a manual one. Its just that there are alot of procedures that you must go through in order to see the finished product!

You can PM me if u want more details on the conversion.

Unless you really really don't wanna sell your car, don't do it. Am sure that it will be cheaper to just buy a 325.

Think about it, when it comes time to sell your car, it will be a heck of a lot harder.

Yep have to agree with you on that. Engine conversion brings the value of your car down.. and selling a car more than 10years old hese days is a little bit hard.

Get a 328 maybe? :D

Be happy with what you have and when the time comes, just sell and buy something more powerful.

Trying to get more power from a n/a car is hard and expensive.
Exhaust, airfilter & chips won't give you much more.

If you really must have more power for your car and don't wanna sell, then i would go for a engine swap. But be warned, brakes and suspension need to be upgraded too.

Good luck.

I have a E36 318i Manual (original). I wanted to convert to a E36 325 (6 cyl). Will I need to change the flywheel? clutch? differential? any shafts?

I do know that if you want to convert an auto gearbox engine with a complete manual set, most of the cars parts need to be upgraded along. But for manual to manual swap?
