Just wanted to share w/your guys. I have an e34 with the 2.5 m20 engine and replaced the spark plug with Bosch Platinum last year/15,000kms ago.thought I would give my car a tune-up/check the plugs as it's been a year. Replaced plugs with Bosch Super 4s (4 tip plugs) at about 70 for 6 last year and was amazed at the difference these plugs made!!The car is so much smoother and a lot more powerful. idle is better and so is start-up. My prev Platinum plugs were still is pretty OK condition so I think the diff was due to the Bosch Super 4s. incidentally I also changed to Bosch Super 4s on my other car an alfa GTV and the results were also similar, smoother idle, better revs etc.Hopefully my fuel consumption will improve too. :p

Bro, the next round try some Beru Ultra X plugs. Better power and consumption! Had it on my e34 and fuel consumption improved by about 10% :)

U can chg every year if its only 70bucks for 6. For some like M3's plugs are like Rm100 each. How? You basically do not need to chg plug every year. If you wanted to check if there was any differences then you should replace with same plugs. Changing brang or specs will give diff results. Beru is an example & there are many other better plugs also out there that will set you back a few $$.

Bundy..

1 plug how much?

thanks

Ultra X is about RM30 per piece. Beru Ultra is about RM10 bucks/piece.

Better than the Bosch I have used before. Both my bimmers are using beru now :)

good info on the beru X. hmm 30 per piece.. so it's 2xs the price of the bosch +4.. I guess one gets what one pays for.

the bosch +4, get about 4-5% better mileage vs. the OEM, so if the Beru Xs get 10% more than OEM. it quite worthwhile as one saves about 30rm per month so in 6 months you get your $4 back.

whereabout are you buying your berus Al bundy?

IMHO, not complety true I tried the bosch platinum v.s. the bosch super, imperceptible difference - even with diff heat ratings. I'v also compared teh std NGKs and not much diff.

But I've felt a sizable diff with the Bosch +4, and Bosch Platinum +4s.

and while one does not need to change plugs every year. (plugs can last for several years) it does make a diff in how the eng perf. I used to smog/test my car emission and no doubt with a yearly sparkplug change the car runs cleaner. Cleaning the plug helps but only marginally as the resistance of the insulator and conductors somehow detrioriate enough(I'm not sure how) to affect perf.

FActory reccommends change about every 2 years but its well known they like to stretch serv intervals for mktg purporses.

heheehe it's like he's asking where bundy buys his berus (berus gigi?)

back to topic. any difference if using on the e30? currently running on bosch. interested in hearing the difference on 10 bucks beru. Not in in for power, by the way. old engine how can ada power.

Beru ultra X got it from our Calvin Tan...Normal Beru Ultra can got it from my regular spare part shop. :)

OEM is NGK Laser Platinum Plug... shows on my factory book & cost 100+ each.
I m using Bosh 4 tip now.. Can't compare the diff cos I didn't actually tested the OEM plugs...
