Initially my problem was the instrument cluster going haywire. Temp gauge and fuel gauge went flickering left and right. Then the whole cluster just died. Then sprang back to life. This happens intermittently. So got myself a used cluster. After swapping the back board and transferred my code plug to the unit I found out the my plug was defective. Can't use the used one in the meter coz did that and the car showed 160kmh instead of the 100kmh its going(gps crosscheck). So my question is to anyone who had experienced this matter. Where do i get this code plug reprogrammed to my cars specification. Thanks guys.

The old code plug cannot be "reprogrammed," and a new, or OLD replacement code plug from another cluster will NOT be compatible with your original E-34 dash cluster. In my case, the odometer had stopped at 300,000KM; so I had bought a new code plug for RM700 at Auto Bavaria. But as I said, it was not compatible with my original old instrument cluster, so had to spend another RM3200 for new rear-half of the dash cluster. It doesn't work any other way. Apparently one cannot exchange the cluster with one from another car unless you change the ECM module along with it, coz the code plug and electronic module communicate with each other and must be compatible. ...this according to Auto Bavaria mechanic.

dear gluball... you r right... the code plug is not programable.... but i did replace it with a new one. and yes cost 700++ for it...
so far after pluging it in with the donor circuit board, i works perfectly... my speed was correct.. my fuel gauge shows correctly.. the only problem is my odometer went to 0000000... so dont know why yours didnt work.... sorry that you had to cough up 3k plus though...
thanks for the info...
cheers
