My fuel pump kong just now. I dont think so it is necessary to get new one, just 2nd hand will do. Any advise on how much $$$ and where to get? I'm based in Shah Alam.

better buy new one. its not too expensive. if u have some talent, u can install it yourself. with new parts come peace of mind. hehehe

get new pump , oni rm750 liddat when i change it last 2 years. oso change the filter. if not soon the new pump will b old pump...

I think this is the external one. The one that you can see when you remove your bonnet carpet.

Filter? And how much will that be?

fuel filter new rm35.00 buy at auto bavaria subang jaya . 2 hand fuel pump around rm200 . try go to abg mat at glenmarie
workshop he got alot spares car to scrap . good luck .

Definitely the new ones will come with peace of mind. But got info that fuel pump will hardly kong and most of the time it is safe to get the 2nd hand one. Please go and mandi bunga if it happens twice to you, heheheee.

Have just got it fixed but not the filter. Will put that in my To Do List.

BTW, for future use, where is this Abang Mat G'marie shop? Is it around the shoplots after the Petronas petrol station?

Anyone has the same problem, there's one member who happen to have one pump with him. Do let me know for more info.

wah, fuel pump hardly kong??? it's still a motor, why would you think a motor won't 'die' due to wear and tear..

And don't drive until fuel tank empty before refilling your fuel tank, especially for those with in-tank fuel pump. Why? bcos in tank fuel pump relies on being submerged in the petrol to get cooled down, (the motor gets hot pumping petrol)... Prolonged usage in near empty fuel tank will cause premature 'death' of the fuel pump...
I know there are ppl who pump 1/2 tank and then drive till empty. Not sure to save money or wants to have a lighter load to go zoom zoom.. Each to their own, but beware of the risk associated with premature fuel pump failure.

Guys,

Whats your opinion on the Fuel Treatment? Can easily find this at the shopping mall or accessories shop. Can just pour the whole bottle in the fuel tank. It claims to improve the performance and at the same time clean the fuel system. Anyone has tried?

Shyful,

Its a 2nd hand unit bro. I've inform the 'supplier' to PM u direct.

Fabian,

Thanks for the tips. So I guess mine is the external one right since I can immediately see it under the carpet. Please confirm.
