E30 Tweeter pods

Bought some off ebay & wanting to install them. i want to take out the original tweeters & put my own in there but i cant seem to remove the originals..i tried twisting it & spraying wd40 along the sides, but its still stuck! :blush:

That sounds like a super cool mod as the tweeters will be at ear level :yes:.....why dont you check out the US forums, I remember seeing somewhere it being done..... may require a fair bit of work tho.......I think they call those triangular things "sails"....good luck dude!

I got a set ppl! u'd be lucky to pay 25 bucks for a set! if you do find one, i'll give you 50 bucks for it if you can find a good condition one!! hahah..that gives u an indication of how much i paid for mine.
harshness is due to your tweeter quality, dont think its to do with the placement of the tweeter, ive test the original and it sounds okie..ive heard worst.
if i cant get the damn thing out, i'll just stick with!

i've done mine, it a pain to remove

there are sealants on both side of the tweeter, but basically it has to be butchered and ripped out of its ownself, it i may say so

start by using a deep knife scoring it on the edges, do both front and rear while working towards the insides

since i didnt wanna keep the older tweets, i basically butchered them so as to preserve the plastics surronding them

just be patient, and you will slowly get to see the grooves where it joins
