Hi all you experts,Need some advice here as I am kinda new to this forum and not that savvy with cars as well. I have been driving an E30 318i for the past 1 year, no problem with the car up to now. I think my engine is an M10 engine (4 cylinder) with timimg chain. Oh yes, it auto trans.I have been experiencing starting trouble with my car in the morning for the past week. It struggles to start (takes probably 8 to 10 kicks) then it starts. But at times it starts probably with about 2 kicks but when I engage to D, it struggles and then will konck out. Then have to restart again and have to go through the same process several times before I can actually take it on the road. The only thing is that it happens only in the morning when the engine is cold. But after the car heats up and after some dirving, there will be no problem at all untill the next morning.Any advise on what can be the problem?Rgds

Brad/tyke,

Really appreciate your reply. I will heed your advise by sending PM to the below mentioned sifus.

Thanks a lot mate....

Bro,

The first thing you should take a look at is your ICV (Idle control valve) as from your brief description that's what it sounds like. However, it could be something else. Propoer diagnostic is available during TT sessions......join us?

Does M10 come with ICV? cos he said his car is a M10

Unless he's referring to the M42/43/44 with timing chain...
