E30 Odometer not rolling

Hi all,Need some advise on the above....The odometer stopped working sometime back and I am at a lost of estimating when should I send the car for service. The speedometer is working fine...Please advise me on how to get it repaired.Thanks

most probably the plastic gears inside the meter broken. can buy the gears from dealer and change it. even DIY. should be around rm 100.00 plus... good luck

I got one brand new one lying around. If your engine's M40, you are in luck.

There is a shop in Jln Gasing which can do this. Gears plus installations.. should be around RM160 + -

yup. you're right... just checked with the dealer. vdo and motormeter got different gears.
