bro,if comfirm this part failure my advise is change new one cause 2nd hand mean already been use for some time how long it still can be last?new one can last you more then five year & only cost less then rm200.

bro chili e30, thanks for your advise. :top:

update : just changed to new set of ignition cable/wires....car starts xcellent, but still have longstanding issue .......when driven when the engine is still cold, the car tends to hesitate for about one or two minutes, then ok after the engine has already warm up. any idea the cause ?

what need to be checked ?

thanks.

update : engine hesitate when cold.

diagnosed : cracked distributor cap and damaged/minor burned rotor.

replaced with new ones - issue solved. damage less than 1k.

now car pickup.........wow! but top speed issue

my 3 figures xperience.........

If I'm not mistaken, the engine has a thermistor which increases the amount of fuel going into the engine when the engine is cold. This helps the engine run better when it is cold. It's located near the engine coolant thermostat.

Another thing which fails quite often is the air slide valve which is in effect the choke for this engine. It increases the the engines idling speed when it is cold so that the engine is more stable. Might be worth checking. It may not apply for engines using the Motronic system though. My experience is with the L-Jetronic fuel injection.

Just some ideas,
Larry
