e28 lowering question

hey there...im curious to know if anyone has managed to lower their car with 17" rims or if its even possible...my car is running on 235/45/17 tyres&rims....even to install that i had to do some knocking to the inside of the rear wheel arch...so i have my doubts as to whether lowering the car provide sufficient clearance for my tyres...i was thinking of the eibach prokit which claims to lower front 1.4inch and rear 1.2 inch...thanks.

anyone running an e28 on eibach prokit lowering spring? whats your rim&tyre size? Trying to ascertain whats the max rim and tyre size i can run without it hitting the car body...if there isnt sufficient clearance for 235/45/17 i might have to consider modifying some coilovers to fit...wonder if anyone has tried that...i guess that would be worth a try as the e28's standard handling feels like crap around corners.
