Just thot I'd share my joy...After about 2 weeks being in the workshop, my Beloved is finally on the road. Beloved was previously converted from a bog standard e28 m20 2.0 to a 2.5. Great improvement as far as power etc. Recently, the idle valve sensor started acting up and I was kinda surprise to be quoted RM280 for a replacement. In addition to that, I had to replace the multitude of hoses around it. I then had the bright idea of changing the management system to a motronic system instead of the older jetronic, thus getting rid of the idle valve. So happen, Naza2 had an m20 engine lying around complete with the wiring etc. After bunch of haggling, managed to get it of him (Thanks Nana2!!) and so the journey began....It was though...on Beloved as well as my pocket but boy was it worth it. The motronic conversion improved the performance tremendously. Smooth idling, better throttle response and smoother acceleration...Three days after getting the car, I got the itch again. Dug out my Hartge M20 copy chip which I had previously bought on ebay. I could not use it previously on my e30 due to differing motronic versions, it has now become useful again. Plonked in the chip and started the car...idle was rough...drove around for a day feeling a bit pissed at the slight jerkiness...Next morning, the normal journey to work, I began to feel the difference. The idling was a smoother but less than the bog standard chip. However, it felt a lot more eager. Took it up on the pencala link highway and proceeded to redline it... damn... it was brilliant! Torque was amazing... the pull from 3500 to redline was nothing short of breathtaking... I have fallen in love with Beloved all over again...sleme!!p/s I would recommend the chip to those using the late motronic m20 chips. These chips are copies hence the low price (about 40-50 pounds). Buy it from ebay uk from this guy by the name of Jayson. Great guy. He has Alpina and Hartge copies as well as his own Venom chips...BTW I have no affiliation with Jayson whatsoever...just though guys here might be interested..
