Hey guys,I know this might not be the most interesting topic for discussion but could anyone give me a hand?I've got an E46 318i that runs on 18" Type 4 ACS.. Problem is everytime I hit the brakes on high speed, I kinda get the feeling that my brakes are sort of jerking.Could this be due to the disc brakes? I think they aren't originals. Probably OEM. Any ideas how I could fix this? Buy originals? How much ah plus installation? Where? I just fear the constant vibrations might hurt the mounting. Thanks,Jason

Did you check your brake pad already? Last time my car also experience like this. i just change to new brake pad.

your disc may be warp (uneven or bengkok), try asking your mechanic opinion and if skimming will help

change the pads.....if still ike that, then changed the disc.....safety first

I tot skimming is not recommended for UDM disc?

Depends on the thickness of your disc.. maybe can still skim once.. or else need to be changed... is either problem with pad or disc or both..

Thanks guys.. will check it out with da mech then..

However, assuming both disc and pads need to be changed, what's the reasonable amount to fork out?

And also, a 318 being a 318, I kinda feel the car's a little sluggish. Anything I can do to boost its HP by a substantial amount? You know la, everyday kena cucuk by Kancil a bit malu ma :p

U can get ur car rechip. would help u extract extra power from the engine and it might also help improve fuel consumtion

Upgrade your chip may help. last time I ask about the price should be around 1K smthng. go for 325 engine la...huhu

a 4 potter will always be a 4 potter... can't do much ,but if you change your driving style that may help ...:)

Which means an upgraded chip won't give significant changes?
Which means a 4 potter will always be a 4 potter? :p You just wait you..
Which means I'll just have to be more patient when a Kelisa cucuks my back?

Sigh.. such is the realities of life..

Thanks all, and by the way, I got my disc skimmed.. works like a charm now :)

The chip would give about another 10-20HP more if i have not mistaken and better milage but would cost u about RM2k. a 1.8 seems a lil small for a BMW actually...just my opinion.

Well there is always the thing call NOS(Nitrous Oxide System) should give a good 50-75HP increase to stop getting cucuk but cost about RM150 to refill.
