Difference between M40B16 n M40B18

Guys, I would like to know the difference between the 2. Is the B16 a detuned version of the B18 using only the ECU to control power output? And is it possible to use B18's fuel-pump, alternator, timing-belt, AFM, radiator, aircompresor etc.. on a B16? Thanks in advance for any input.

B16 has shorter stroke hence lesser capacity - ~1600cc vs the B18 with 1796cc

do u have any reasoning that those parts can't be used on the B16? Apart from the AFM, I think the rest should be interchangeable.

Well i'm a bit confused la, coz both engine looks the same. Mine's a B16.

so u're saying that the onli difference is the stroker in the B18? anything else?
whats up with the AFM?

The engine looks the same from the outside.. Actually the bore is the same too, just shorter stroke.

The AFM may or may not be the same. but u can always check the part number on the ETK to confirm..
