this video has been posted so many times liao...
anyway, from what I read in the US E30 forum. He was taking his Dad's car out for a joyride.. The car didn't break down as claimed at the end of the video but they did catch him later at his house..

He definitely subscribe to the phrase: Drive it like you stole it.. Just that he got caught doing it...

And the Camaro needs better handling. hahaha. It's like a boat compared to the nippy E30 M3.

The irony is that the father of this boy is a performance driving instructor

p/s: He actually got away from the chase ... but the police caught him when visiting his home.
