this car is facing certain death this month if i could not find a buyer. i am trying hard to save it to find a buyer who loves this car.
  • e30m40 316i manual --> singapore registered
  • 302,000km - personally covered 152,000km in 4 years 3 months.
  • 19 years old (december 1989 manufacture date)
  • all internal switches are working - except the two rear power windows
  • spent lots of money to put the car in good conditon
  • recently spent $1800 (march 2008) for top overhaul - new camshart, rocker arms, all valves, timing belt, rubber hoses, inlet (according to mechanic, engine is tip top with EVEN compression pressures - measurements provided in bill)
  • all service bills available
  • only used synthetic oil with regular change
  • good fuel consumption returning 10 to 11 km/liter on highway
  • engine is now quiet and as good as new
  • 1-year old A/C compressor (last changed on 5/5/07)
  • black leather recaro seats alk round
  • sparco 15" wheels (rare)
  • lowered suspension mterra springs with Koni Sports dampers
  • well taken care of except the exterior that has some dents due to minor knocks on the front fenders
  • MTechII steering (leather slightly worn on the right side)
  • top speed about 190 in 4th
this car maybe imported to malaysia. all we neeed to do is to deregister it and have it exported if you want. although i am not a fan of bmw, i have to say this car is rewarding to drive and incredibly reliable for its age. this is definitely one enjoyable workhorse. very strong and predicatable, i have enjoyed this car to many places in malaysia. i would really want the next owner to enjoy it instead to see it ripped apart! if anyone is keen, the price is rm15,000. i MUST get rid of this car before end of next week. if you're keen let me know. selespeed+65 93389416 cell

are you sure its that simple?
i heard that singapore cars can be exported but not imported into malaysia (not singapore as mistyped earlier) unless it goes through some rather grey process. further, an ap is needed... which the value may exceed the current cost of this e30.

if you decide to scrap this car, you might wanna see which parts you can sell off to some of the guys here. this might help you recover some cash to top up the scrap value.

i prefer to sell locally here. let's see if i am lucky...

yes bro, its not easy to get the car to be exported to malaysia...
dont think anyone will one to do it for you too, except those law bending ones!

good luck! I'll try to ask around here in Singapore
but most my buddies are already driving the E36...
they gave me a funny look when I sold my E36 318iS for a E30 316iM

hahaha.... had my reason!

i can't bear to scrap the car. so i have decided to keep the car because it has been fairly rewarding for me. the agility and balance of this little machine is what makes me want to keep it.

meanwhile, i got myself an alfa 156 jts. incredibly powerful for a 2 liter - 165bhp. and what a joy to drive!

back to the alfa roots and love every moment of it.

so now i am called bmw-selespeed.

I'm pleased you decided to keep the E30. It still looks good with oogles of appeal...

yeah man i agree. lately i have been busy fixing up my e30 - new leather wrap on my mtechII steering wheel, m3 bushes, new boots for output shafts, new engine mounts and struts, new door handles, and many more. i think i really like this car and it is appealing and a joy to drive. funny thing is i drive this car more than the 156! with the new m3 bushes, the e30 handling is more taut! i have deciced to keep it for another 10 years!the e30 is better balanced while the 156 is just a gt car. on balance, i think i am now leaning toward bmw!

Err, unfortunately no.

I looking for the following in BLACK for a e30 sedan manual RHD:

Centre console front portion
L&R front door pockets
knee bolster
glove box cover

U know any JB scrapyards specialising in BMW where I can call to check?

Gd luck in your search for those 2 items

Thanks

Go to JB Quality Auto Parts at the Tebrau Area. Quite a few forummers and members go there (myself included). Look for a nice chap called Alan, he'll help you.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting!

Hi selepseed,

I know of someone looking for an e30 in singapore especially a manual one.
if and when you decide that you would want to let it go, please drop me a PM.
