What does Cruise Control with Brake Function mean? I found this in 323i specification. Besides, also found Sport-leather steering wheel, with gearshift paddle in the spec.

Conventional cruise control uses engine braking or downshifting to slow the car when on cruise control. 'With brake function' means the system employs brakes as well. This enhancement is necessary for BMW's Active Cruise Control which uses radar to keep the same distance from the car in front (but ACC is not offered here)

Since ACC is not available here, can i said Cruise Control 'With brake function' = Conventional cruise control? One SA told me "Cruise Control 'With brake function' " = During Auto Cruising, step on brake and cruise will be cut off.

No, integrating brakes into cruise control isn't that simple and straightforward, so 'with brake function' does not = conventional cruise control. Cutting off cruise control by touching the brakes existed from the initial design of modern cruise control more than half a century ago by a blind engineer. It only shows that SAs in general know very little about the cars they sell...or cars in general. :1:

sean, have u driven a conventional cruise control equipped vehicle before? My 1992 Proton 4-potter Perdana has it, my 1994 Volvo 940 has it... and no, conventional cruise control equipment does not talk to the brakes.. but both cruise control uses brake to disengage.. :4:

Yes, i am currently driving 2009 2.4V Camry with cruise control. I believe the 'with brake function' didn't mean like what the SA told me. Hence, i post my doubt here. And, i browse throught BMW website last night and found topics that really help. Good job! I can find all the terms which i don't understand there. Sorry that i didn't bookmark it.

Like Mr.Schwepps said, the function accompany with ACC. Too bad.

Beside, Sport-leather steering wheel, with gearshift paddle was found the 323i spec. I thought this only found in 325?

Lotsa goodies will be thrown in towards the end of the product life cycle...

Yes, this is new added goodies. Good to have. Even it is towards it's end of life cycle, the shape and style still amaze me.

When going downhill + cruise control is active, you can see the rear brake light comes on in order for the system to maintain the required speed. It shocked me earlier as I thought I forgot to release the handbrake for several hundreds KMs (as I just noticed it at one of the dark road).

The 2009 E90 325i does NOT have ACC although the product brochure says it does. It only has the conventional CC. I think BMW (M) short changed us here.

The 2011 E90 320d does NOT have ACC. No mention in the product brochure so i think its not included. It only has the conventional CC.
