Cracked hose

Just now found I have a slightly cracked hose 2nd picture.The first picture shows how it is attached previously.View attachment 23515View attachment 23514So my question is1. What does the hose function?2. Can I still drive the car until I get it fixedThanks

i think it was oil pipe hose to ENGINE. fix it with clamp bro.. before go to mechanic. Otherwise u will see oil engine leak over there.

vacuum hose.

may stall the engine and erratic idling speed if not rectify.

Thanks Jarance, my mechanic indeed told me it is vacumn hose. What is the function because after I clamped it back, a few days later I noticed a tear in the hose.

that hose goes to the CCV/oil separator (crank case vent vlv).the ccv is attached to the inlet manifold(under the manifold).as jarance mentioned,if there is a leak,idle will be affected.the hose can be bought and replaced.

is that M50 engine, single vanos?, the car don't have CCV/ oil separator, the vacuum hose connect to hose socket below the IM and the other end of the socket connect to air intake. just connect it back, no need to clamp, change it if it leak oil.
