salam & ello E34 bros,need some answers here, regarding this rim i'm selling..can it be fitted to E34?here's the spec :pCD: 5H-120Front: 18" x 8J - ET35Rear: 18" x 9J - ET40thanks in advance

I think it will fitl, but you will need to add on spacers. btw, spacers are not cheap to be fabricated, atleast RM250~RM300 per piece.

You can install up to ET13 into E34 (forgot what i read from the web), offset smaller than that(towards outside) will probably have clearance issue(scratching the fenders)

ET13 will be just nice......for e34 but i still cant figure out how does all the ETs thingie means care to elaborate more.....? thank.....:D

morp, went through the article......learned something new.....but do correct me plz.....cos i'm still a lil sesat.....the value of ET smaller = more offset....?
for example.... i need to use at least ET13 to clear a 4 pot caliper.....but i cant use ET20 rims if i'd like to clear the 4 pot.....betul tak....?

Offset is the distance from the wheel hub to the center line of the rim

this is the link which i randomly googled from the web: http://www.bmw2002.com/tech/bmw-wheels.html

now i remember where i read the best offset for E34 is from ET13~ET20, http://www.bmwe34.net/Wiki/tiki-index.php?page=Wheels

if the offset value is smaller, the distance from the hub mounting to the center line of the rim is smaller, thus the wheel is going outwards if compared to bigger offset.

if you need atleast ET13 to clear the caliper, means you need ET13 or smaller value (ET12,ET8, ET6, ET3....)

The bigger the offset value, the more the wheel going inwards and vice versa.

morph, based on your 1st attachement pictures we assume that ....the ET 13 should be in the centre pic and the ET20 should be the far left pic.....ngam...?

I modified the picture from the web, bcos i am lazy to draw 1 :D
We are only discussing positive offset here, if negative offset the centerline of the rim will be in front of the wheel hub

exampleoffset.jpg

If the color picture is ET20, then the mono picture should be ET13

Now if we align the position of wheel hub mounthing of both pictures, we get:

exampleoffset2.jpg

The distance from center line to the RED line i draw is the offset distance in the picture
So that is why the smaller offset value the outer the wheel comes out.
Hope this helps!
