This is the quote I got from Eng Soon(E36 325i):- (i) Eibach Pro Kit Springs @ S$340.00 = RM782(ii) Bilstein Yellows Absorbers(B6 vs B8) Front @ S$260.00 x 2pcs B8 = RM1192Rear @ S$155.00 X 2pcs B8 = RM592 Total approx RM 2600 How much does it cost here? Eibach RM1000Bilsteins RM2600 Wow thats a RM1k savings in Spore. Is tax that much?

dude go for B8/H&R ... lee36328 has it on his 328 its probably the best balanced set up I know of in an e36. Its firm enough (you need to see lee drive... I mean he is demented around corners.... actually he is demented everywhere LOL) and still very very comfortable. I would say almost as comfortable as stock.... yes betul saya tak tipu.

Actually Eibach may get a little soft after awhile... You might say, soft good lah.. But then too soft also can be crashy going over road undulation... Stiffer springs when mated to the right absorber bound and rebound rate can be comfortable too while giving you the handling performance.. When you've tried on different combination, you'll realize it's not as easy as 1+2 = 3 with the right suspension set up...

The best setup so far for me, is the Sachs Performance Kit. Comes with matching shocks and springs. The ride height looks very very similar to Lee's car equipped with the H&R springs.

30% for tax..

For suspension components, I think its (30+5)%= 36.++%. Engine part is 30+10 % = 42% (effective). That is what was relayed to me by Custom Officers at KLIA. :)

Aiya so typical of gov sectors. I called up Customs to check a while back and the officer told me its 20% + 10%. My friend who does shipping pulak told me it's 30% + 10%.

:stupid::stupid::stupid:

Anxious,

All these inquiries on suspension components......and hard-core ones at that, are you sure you want to go down this road? Your e36 will have a harsh ride and you will be bouncing and jiggling all over the island.

Only consider these performance parts if you are planning to do performance driving. If not, (last time I checked you are a timid drivier) it would be best to do a complete suspension/chassis overhaul. It will cost less than eibachs, B8s and ARBs put together.

My 2 kupang, get all your mounts, bushings, and tie-rods replaced. Get a set of bilstein gas(black) and you should be a very happy owner. This is how BMW intended the e36 to be enjoyed for daily consumption. Please be very aware of the road you plan to travel(pun intended).

Great input and experiences shared from the forummers. Hope this helps you bro.

How is yr calculation? The price should add 7% GST & then currency conversion at avg 2.3. Its more than u think. Then if kena tax would be more. Only thing I like in SG u can guarantee its ori. The bump stop & abs mounting come separately.

Thanks for the input Kev.

Since getting my 325, my driving has become a bit more spirited. I take the winding road on the Vale of Temp( the road on which u showed me what ur E30 could do many years back) to my house almost everyday.

I hv even started organising monthly b'fast and drive to the Teluk Bahang dam with ny friends who own BMWs. I have about 6-7 guys now and the group is growing. We are even planning a round island trip cum durian feast!

Hence my interest in upgrading the suspension.

I have changed all the mountings and bushes that needed replacing. I have also changed the tie rod. I even got the car inspected in AB Pg for RM150+ to check whether I needed to change any parts.

Anyways we Penangites have a reputation of being very cost conscious. Although I am not Hokkein, I guess its rubbed on.

As I got new Black Bilsteins last year and have only done 17000km on them I was thinking of what else I could do w/o needing to change the shocks.

Thats how I started to think about ARBs. I was thinking of Eibach until my mech's asst suggested second had mtech for the front. That started me researching on ARBs.

The rest you have read in my various postings.

Anyway thanks for all your input. I am sure anyone reading these threads would have gain some knowledge as suspension uppgrades etc.

Anxious,

No worries bro, good stuff and glad to see tht you are really enjoying your beemer.

On the note of ARBs, the HnR ARBs would definately get my money. I have tried al most all the available brands on friends and customers' rides and I must say the HnR product is top notch and it actually improves the ride! Best bang for the buck for cost concious non-hokkien penangites!

Good luck buddy!
