Coolant Level & Ignition Key

Need some opinion on these matter on an e34 525i 95' 24V Single Vanos1. Is it normal to top up the radiator with water often? ("Coolant Level" warning came off every 4-5 days after topping up)2. I was told my keys are hi-tech. Cannot just duplicate anywhere as it is coded or have some certain sensor in it. By the way, I have only 1 key (seems like a spare key). Unable to obtain another one from previous owner. Went to AB, was told it is not hi-tech (normal key). So, which is which ah?Hope can brush me up...kinda stuck la! :dunno:

No it is not normal. There is a leak somewhere, ask your mechanic to check.

1995 should be the EWS equipped key, should cost around RM300 to order one. You can try a simple experiment - get a normal key cutter to duplicate your key and see it can start the car. Besides AB, M1 can also order the key.
