Clicking noise from gear knob

Hey guys, was noticed a loud clicking noise from my gear knob when I pressed the brake, is that something tear down ?
Is there anyone face the similar problem before ? Mind to share your experience

hi bro,
that would be the gear lever unlock solenoid clicking away...probably audible now as the car ages.my previous e39 also clicks but not loud la....nothing to worry about.if you kenot tahan,then change the solenoid lor....

Thanks a lot bro, would this cost a lot ? Or if I ignore it, would it affect my daily drive ?

Just live with it. It does not affect your drive.

Increase the radio volume to drown out the click.. LOL

Forgot to mention that if you position the gear lever, the sound would be less noticeable. Just push it slightly forward.

I did bro, if I push it forward when at P position, there will be no clicking sound at all, but the gear knob like stuck there, I need to pull it back very very hard . I'm quite worry would it lose function when I'm driving .

Sorry, what I meant was at Neutral position, not at Park position.
