I have just obtained and refurbished the original e21 BBS sport rims model 6Jx13H2ET13 BBS KBA40179 the problem is that the cover for the rims do not fit what alternative do I have and where could I get them.Apparently the cover that I have could not fit on the rims as pic attached.I have got the GY Ducaro for the rims 185/70/13.The rims are BBS original for e21.Ichiwan & Nsborne advise please?

The ones on my original set were very tight. Had to use a block of wood and hammer to put it in.

Easier to take out - tap it out from the rear with hammer handle.

When you refurbished, were the rims repainted? If yes, could be the paint in the way.

Yes it was repainted and sides were polished but the problem is that the hub caps is too lose and could not fit in.

I have been trying to get shocks for my rear but to no avail (BOGE), 3 shops that I have inquired are Bomin (Sachs RM160 each), Munich auto (Gabriel RM180 each) and Bavarian auto (none avail)

I am looking for the oil base BOGE rear shocks, where could I get them and how much?

As for the front and rear emblem, only the latter shops carries the original about RM40++ for front and RM75++ rear, the rest of the shops only have the non genuine parts selling for RM40++ each.

As for the paint where could I send? So far a Segambut shop offered 1.6k in and out to respray, maintaining the same color Alpine Weiss using Dupont, anywhere I could get cheaper with good wmanship? Rust and dents treated!

So far the following were spent

1. Chrome front and rear bumpers RM240
2. Rims restoration RM375
3. Ducaro GA 185/70/13 4 pcs RM450
4. Rust and dents treatment RM650
5. Air Cond Renewed RM350
6. Termostat RM45
7. Brakes renewed RM390
8. BOSCH Plugs, Oil filter and Shell Helix RM25, RM15 and RM100
9. BMW Centre Exhaust Box RM350

Outstanding Work that needs to be done
1. Paint Job RM?????
2. Rear Shocks (Do I need to replace the springs when replacing the shocks?)
3. Alignment and balancing
4. Interior Cleaning
5. Engine Tuning (Seems to be inconsistent idling prob prior repacing the centre exhaust box, upon replace the idling prob resolved however at times it seems to idle at a higher RPM slightly above 1000RPM)

Managed to save cost by canibalizing parts from another e21!

The car is a stock standard e21 320/6!

Center caps - try widening the part that is loose, i.e., on the cap itself. Worst case, put in paper to act as gasket.

Try CSS, its just down the road from Bomin, for your Boges. Bought a pair a few months back.

The loose gaps is too much, not possible in widening the gaps.

Ok will try the CSS, how much did u paid for the Boge shocks (rear) and is it oil base?

Ichiwan Thanks for the fedback, just noticed that the question has been answered in the classic forum by yourself.

The chrome was done on Segambut, let me know if you wish to get it done will take you to the place, it was done in kedai bawah pokok!

What else parts of e21 can be chrome?

Door trim (i.e., the window surrounds), door handle - if you must. The kidney grille.

Could be totally wrong size. I think they have the 50mm and 60mm caps. Don't know why different sizes. I think mine were the 50mm ones, then again, I might be wrong. Have not really gone to measure them.

Chrome bumper price seems quite reasonable, Was your bumper very bad condition before? any welding done to it?. where about is the place?.

Your rims, you painted the skimed area with clear coat or just polish the skimed surface?.

Thanks

Chrome bumpers were done at bawah pokok shop in Segambut, no weld needed just chroming.

The rims was painted on the centre portion and the edge(skim area) were polished and skim.

Chrome, no worries, can take you guys to the place if u r keen!

Just thot of more stuff to chrome:

The bonnet catch (left, right and centre)
Door catch/latch.
