5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine with Multi-Displacement System (MDS), 340 horsepower at 5,000 rpm, and 390 lb-ft of torque, standard on 300C—the most horsepower and torque in its class.* The MDS system allows the engine to operate on four cylinders when power demands are minimal, increasing fuel efficiency by up to 20 percent. This provides the power of a V8 with the economy of a large V6. (EPA estimated mpg: 17 city/ 25 highway)

Typical American engineering... 5.7 ltrs to squeeze out 340hp and 390NM torque... BMW's needs 5.0 ltrs to squeeze out 500+hp and 500+NM torque from their poweplant in normal aspiration mode.

It's the same with my friend's S500L. In normal city mode, it operates on 6-cylinders only but when you stomp it, all 8 cylinders do the a-go-go!

its a fuel guzzeler, so no use having one in malaysia unless you can afford to mantain one.

Joe Rogan's Sick Fish rocks big time. Glod bless that HEMI power-plant !!! OSF, I think it is push-rod based tech ... not very sure la. Trust the boys at Rad Rides to come up with something that crazy !!!

Cheers,

Yes. The Hemi's valvetrain is actuated by pushrods. I think the first performance yank V-8 acutated by belt/gear was the LT-1 'Vette in the early 90's. Nutty country eh, you get these massive gas guzzlin' SUVs driven by one person, but manufacturers have to commit to selling a minimum number of hybrid cars by 2007 or something.

Should check out the estate equivalent to the 300C. I think its a Dodge. Real awesome looking!

he says that the 'cuda is much better than his 911 turbo.
Di he say "better" or "cooler"? Must watch the program again. I remembered he said cooler, coz on track I doubt the sick fish can beat the 911 turbo.

still, typical american cars - butt ugly..

when i was in New York a few months back, this car is everywhere.. driven by mostly african americans with the stereo on so loud, you can hear it from several blocks away... definitely not my type of car - stylewise and imagewise..
