Chrysler will be selling the original Tomahawk concept and nine replicas through Neiman Marcus, for up to $555,000 each. The motorcycles cannot be licensed, so they cannot be legally driven on public roads. A Chrysler spokesman told Reuters they were meant as rolling sculptures. Rumors had the Tomahawk selling for under $200,000, most likely at a loss or breakeven price, for publicity purposes - but still fully drivable. Wolfgang Bernhard, Chrysler's not particularly respected first mate, was said to be enthusiastic about that project, so much so that hundreds were projected to be built at under $200,000 each. They reportedly cost Chrysler over $100,000 to build (admittedly the work is outsourced). The Dodge Tomahawk can reach 60 miles an hour in about 2.5 seconds, and has a theoretical top speed of nearly 400 mph. Each pair of wheels is separated by a few inches and each wheel has an independent suspension. Bernhard said four wheels were necessary to handle the power from the engine. The Tomahawk remains on display at auto shows - though well out of reach of the general public, elevated on a special display. PERFORMANCE: 0-60 mph: 2.5 seconds (est.)Top Speed: 300+ mph (est.) if i recall correctly - it was done for a movie.....hollywood ones no less.

dun think this will go round bends very well....

Although very impressive, its NOT a motorcycle!
Defination:

A motorcycle (or motorbike) is a two-wheeled vehicle powered by an engine. The wheels are in-line, and at higher speed the motorcycle remains upright and stable by virtue of gyroscopic forces; at lower speeds continual readjustment of the steering by the rider gives stability. ...

or

"Every motor vehicle having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground, but excluding a tractor."

This beast has FOUR wheels and the rider doesnt need to balance.

It cant bank, wonder how it takes corners.... would be interesting to burn rubber and power slide it thru though!

Anyway, whether it is defined as a bike or not, it looks wicked.... :eek:k:

World's fastest bike? What speed has it achieved so far? Probably less than 10km/hr since its a rolling sculpture

And who will buy it? Fuel tank capacity 3.2 gallons = 12 liters. Engine cc is 8277! How far could you go?

not sure what its called but there is another bike that more realistic.

US entertainer Jay Leno actually has one. It was also featured in the hollywood movie Biker Boyz.

A bike that actual has a helicoptor engine as an engine.

Performance Bikes Magazines has built a Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-1300R K5 with 700bhp from a turbocharged engine and it has done 242 MPH amd a 174 MPH wheelie... That has to be faster than the Dodge Tomahawk.
