Plan to go to a chop shop (Hakitrade) this Saturday. First time for me and looking for some bits and pieces for my e36. I already made a list of things to look for.Any advise on the dos and donts e.g is it ok to haggle a bit on the price or its a take it or leave it situation? Do they have any warranty on the parts?

If you already have a list of items you're looking out for, try to seek out the workers there whether they are able to help you source for the parts. And you can even tag along with them if you want to see the part for yourself.

Hakitrade has a huge outlet/warehouse there, and I have taken a walk around the place before whilst waiting for the worker to search for some parts for my E32.

The boss is an elderly man, but most of the time you might probably be dealing with the son or another lady.

I suppose you would already have a rough idea how much you are prepared to fork out for a part, so if you feel uncomfortable about paying OTT for some parts, you can always try to ask for some small discounts. No harm trying to strike up small chat in the hopes of getting some discounts.

All the best bro.

Can haggle no problem. Price depends on your haggling skills hehe.

The boss/boss son are busy man and could not attend to everybody at the same time. Wait for him to be free a bit before you nego.

They're based at Kampung Melayu Subang.

Just after the old Subang Airport. Head straight past the airport. Straight past first set of traffic lights, then before the 2nd set, turn left, head down for 100-200 metres or so, Hakitrade will be on your left.

Wei..

crusher - accept list? I also looking for some misc. stuff for E36 =P

mmmmm Hakitrade....wonder any relation with OM Hakkamee?

Actually I used to own a house right across the street years ago :) Found it this morning. Got the stuff I wanted too.

One of the pieces I was looking for was the front power window switch. I found this at Hakitrade this morning. Swapped it in an my window came back to life :)

BTW, the old switch , the rocker is not making contact. There is no click when I press down. I wonder if the rocker part can be replaced. Can the switch even be taken apart?

Here is the pic with the obc.View attachment 22591View attachment 22592

Unfortunately the OBC is not working as well as I hoped. May have to return it next week
