While BMW has been busy designing and developing a 1.5 ltr 3 cylinder engine for the next 3 series, look what Toyota has been up to! Didn't expect Toyota to make such tasty engines!

toyota is already the world's largest automobile producer. they need products like the one above for brand building.. make 500 super special cars to help sell the 15 million boring products they make yearly. bmw on the other hand is trying to make volume sellers to get to similar economies of scale. so, toyota needs this fire breathing monster just as much as bmw needs a cheap 3 cylinder.

Don't matter how fast it can go, it's still a TOYota fitted with V10....hmm, wonder where they get the inspiration from....copycats!!

Meanwhile, Toyota is looking at reviving the legendary AE86 with the following replacement. The FT-86 remain a concept but has made its way into Gran Turismo 5. 2.0L Turbo FR layout fitted with a boxster engine from Fuji Industry, the maker of Subaru. Subaru is also working on a similar cousin base on the same platform. Targeted to Celica and MRx owners so I believe the price should not be too steep.. in the region of RM200k

Looking good boys!

the lexus does have a hint of lambo on certain angles, but definitely a street version of the toyata F1.

hahaha... Toyota can try to remake AE86 but is not going be sucessful. They tired on IS200, but failed miserably.
Back in 80's, AE86 has a 8500rpm redline, 140hp, 50/50 weight distribution, ABS, LSD, light car (2200+/-lbs), twin cam, multilink rear, and MacPherson front. And AE86 Is still a Legend.

8500rpm redline? Sure ka? That CTR B16B territory which is also a cult car. The 1.6 ltr AE86 4A-GE puts out peak 140ps power at 6600rpm and redlines at 7700rpm. Definitely impressive for its time. I believe the highest output N/A 1.6 ltr production car still goes to the Honda CTR at 185ps and 8500rpm redline.

GTR + Audi R8

IMHO, the LF-A is pretty Toyota "original" with a shadow of Supra at its front and Celica at the rear, well a bit of Gallardo too at the rear for the flat right angle boot line.

I think Toyota has done a fantastic job in making the LFA.. they've made great cars before and they sure as hell will make more,of that I have no doubt.
I think the FT86 concept is also fantastic..I'll be waiting for this one.The best of what Subaru and Toyota has got to offer, what's not to love.. I'm actually postponing my S15 spec-R purchase to see how the production version of the FT86 will come out.

RWD chassis, boxer engine and a shape to die for..yummeh!

im not impressed with the lexus. I think you have to be one rich idiot to buy on of those Lexus. However, the toyota FT-86 is interesting
