Hi Guys,I have a 320d and at 34,000km my rear tyres almost botak already. Now I have a staggered config with 225-45-17 in the front and 255-40-17 at the back.Is it technically possible for me to change the rear from 255-45-17 to 225-45-17? I understand that 320i have this config but I don't know if my 320d have the same rim size at the back and if it will fit. Reason I'm thinking about this is the $$$thanks

Bro the stock 320d rims are staggered in size.
The width of our rims are 8.5 front and 9.5 rears.
So if u go to 225 all around the rear tyres will have that stretched look

GT Radial Campiro HPY or NEXEN 8000 245 40/45 17 are not that expensive

get the rims of 320i? i wonder what are the differences between staggered and normal, handling wise, also noise comfort etc

320d has much torque that the 320i, therefore a 255 at rear for the RWD to minimise the possibility of oversteer. I think a 225 at rear for 320d will go botak much faster than a 255 due to less road contacting surface.

For handling wise, noise and etc, you may have a better understanding from this article.
