L & G,plan to change the HU of my Z3. Any recommendation for shops around Kajang & Subang Jaya? Also plan to install an Alpine unit with USB. Appreciate your comments.

I think u shud join Subang TT for more info...do check out their meet up thread bro....salammm

L & G, finally got it replaced with Pioneer HU. Read somewhere that alpine Hu is a bit choosy when it comes to CD's, and mine are mostly pasar malam. I guess it doesn't take much to make me happy (for now). Pix will follow later. Until the next time, Gadget.

Bro,

where did you finally changed the HU?

I was picking up my youngest boy from his Tadika when I came across this shop in Bangi, Sek. 4. They waited for an expert to arrive and this so-called expert didn't even know how to take out the original HU. After I showed him how, he was on a roll with the wiring et al which got my young boy fascinated to no end.

Seemed to know his stuff and they set-up the EQ for me. The shop name is Sato.

Just to add, when they opened up the whole gamut, I could see that my car's interior was solidly built if I may say so and that explains why there was no rattle and shake after all these years.

p/s - can't attached the pix yet. Will try later.

Jarance,I can't, for the life of me comprehend what MF means (but if you put "-IL-" in between them, then it's a different story). But if you were refering to the volume coinciding with speed, I'm afraid the new HU does not retain that. One of the reason I was adamant about changing HU was this. But technology beckons and I'm but a fool.Regards.

ps - it's hell writing replies via citrix. It does not, for some reason honour space & paragraph. My apologies.

The MF refers to the Multi Function for the Steering Wheel controls. It allow to change the volume and also change the channel
of the radio station or CD player.

I see. Well, there's no MF on my steering wheel to start with. So I guess I don't miss anything. The car belongs to a museum really. My youngest son just got back from munich with his mom. True enough, there's a Z3 in the BMW museum. He went to check the HU and confirmed that it's the same as my former HU, ze cassette player.Written via oficce's Citrix - no paragraphs I presume.

Hello there, I'm planning to change my E90 stock HU to a single DIN HU. Can anyone suggest where can i a decent HU panel for my car? and also around how much would it cost?
