I've been encountered this CEL for quite a few weeks but unable to resolve it. :( It will reappear after 1 or 2 days after it's cleared... I've changed a few things like vacuum hoses, fuel pressure regulator, ventilation valve.... I have heard that it will usually happen to Japan spec e46. Does anyone encouter this problem before and get solved eventually? Hate to see that little yellow light on the speedometer :(

Anyone has any clue or can you suggest any workshop that is knowledgable enough to troubleshoot this? Prefereable include workshop contact info as well. Big thnks!!

Bro...I had this issue sometime last year...

"The fuel lean mixture read fault" can't pinpoint the fault exactly!

These could be some of the culprits!

1. Idlying valve
2. Ignition coil
3. Air Mass Sensor
4. Petrol Filter
5. O2 sensors
6. Fuel Pump/Fuel Pump Floater

Good luck mate...

Thanks... How did u get it resolved last time?

Few things i have checked:

1. MAS readings in range
2. O2 readings in range
3. Vacuum hoses replaced
4. Fuel cap replaced
5. intake manifold clean
6. PCV valve replaced
7. FPR replaced

still no luck...

:(
