I thought they sounded great in their showroom... but dig a little deeper before plunking down that $$$. Lots of audiophiles here can advise you better..

BOSE the facts

MOre talk on BOSE

I am using the Acoustimass series. Their price tend to be high. You'll can get better sound quality if you get the separates individually. The sound quality you can ecpect from Bose is pretty good but do not expect too much, the only thing I liked about them is their small setellite design which saves space and they can complement your furniture.

mine's still in a box waiting for a new home that doesn't seem to be in the horizon at all.. huwaaaa

by the way, I think these AE products are a bit overpriced, considering they are made in malaysia but is a british brand. I heard someone can get it straight from the factory so you can save loads of money.

if i were you, i'd get something more fun than the bose's. sure they sound nice but in my opinion, you can't move a volume of air without having a good size to begin with. for the same price range, you can probably get a decent speaker system of other known brands like B&W or even Infinity. there are several names for receiver/pre-amp you can choose from such as NAD, Krell, B&W or even yamaha if u're tight on budget.

if u still insist on buying a Bose, i advice you go and find somebody who's an alumni of MIT. all ex MIT students are entitle to special discounts from Bose. last time i heard it was 50% off.

I'm using the lifestyle 28 or something like that. Mainly i use it for DVD. As for music, i would go for a valve mono block system. Sound & pic is good for the movies. Really good especially at low volumes. Plus the size is a bonus. Get the Bose for movies & another set for sound. Best of both worlds.
There is an atlas bose showroom in 1Utama near U parkson & emotus (new wing) & also Sunway opposite Sunway hotel, same row as Kentucky.

Go to Perfect Hi Fi and negotiate for discount. I got a set of Evo1 Energy few years back for RM900 and they're still working like a charm! :D

JPB, I did. I nego'd with the uncle at the shop but he refused to budge. Grrr...

MIT? You mean Mara Institute Tech can ah? :D

affan, thought u're a real audio buff/nut..howcome settle for a satelite system only?

fuhrer.. kids... kids ... kids...

can't go with big ol hot rigs anymore.. sold off everything and settled with this.

Once I have my own bungalow, no debt at hand (I hope I can do this before 40), then I'll restart my hifi hobby again.
