Just a small question:-Boot unlockI always have to open my boot for security check. The problem is that most of the security guard do not know where is the boot switch (which is located under the lifter). So in most case, I have to manually open the boot from the inside of the car. My problem is the "boot open" switch is located just above the front bonnet lever. I cant seem to "feel" this switch unless I open the door and duck down to see the location of the switch. So my question is how you overcome this problem other than relocating this switch higher. BTW, I have try to use the "bonnet open" switch on the key but if it does not seem to work when the key is inserted in the ignition slot. It work fine when I outside the car. Appreciate any idea?? Central LockingAnother thing is that I notice that all doors is automatically locked when the car is moving. However, when I stop the car and engine, the door did not unlock. I noticed even my friend proton car door unlock whenever he off the engine. So the question is can the door control module be program to open all doors or driver door when the engine if off. cheers.. Sorry, family is complaining why door cannot unlock...

boot unlock - i have no issues grasping for the boot lock from inside. Need to be familar with it i guess.

central locking - don't think this can be done. I just use the door unlock button near the gear stick. Good for me as I have young kids.

I have problem grasping the knob. Actually I am think of sticking a small slightly sharp object on the button to get the correct feel. It just like the power window for E36. Button "emboss up" for UP motion and "emboss down" for Down motion.

Look like I may have to design my own control circuit for the central locking.

in that case just got those embossed plastics so that you can feel that boot unlock button. It does take a bit of a practice especially when it is dark though.

McGyver tangan gatal already ah?

yeah man, totally agree. jarance, i think u just need to get use to the location of the button, after more and more u press, u will automatically get the right spot with the magic touch. same goes to the central locking, i always use the unlock all door button beside the hazard light button. if not, just ask them to pull the lever twice lar

Try and practise many time and still cannot get the hang of it.. Still thinking of a more positive way to do it.

As for the central locking, my E36 will automatically all doors when I open the driver door but then again the E36 don't have the Unlock switch.

Looks like I have to live with it or improve it...

jarance, you just need to practice. certain things you can grope and touch even in the dark and get it right (right hole, heheh). So, a button like this shouldn't be a problem :)

ha ha ha ha.......

Hey dude,

my E36 did not automatic lock when the ignition switch on, but lock manually by my alarm remote control. that was better, the alarm will lock the door only and not to arm the alarm system at the moment the ignition was on..,:34:, this will extend the life of the central lock, prevent it from keep lock and unlock and then finally spoil the internal mechanism.., an excellent secret... after central lock was lock up by remote control, it will automaticly unlock when the ignition switch off.. :p, soo i just lock it when neccesary....

:34: :top:, NEED demo-station?, sms to 0168568563 if you are in KUCHING....
soo we can meet...

Joker, unfortunately I am in KL and the problem that I am referring to is for E46 model.

Thank for the information.. So how is Kuching? Still got many bugs or frogs there?

brader, that one is natural instinct lah. Furthermore, got moist and furry to guide you when you close to the target..

Maybe you can just unlock the door, and sit inside the car until they figure it out how to open the trunk. It works for me, when all is locked, they dumbfound how to open the trunk, but not when it is unlocked.

what i normally do is I grasp the side of the door (front part) and move my hand down. Use one of the fingers to trace from the dash down as well until i feel the square button. Press it, voila...

Bro, I wouldn't do that if I were you cos one time the guard accidentally tore off my number plate while trying to open the boot.

Bro,

for the boot unlock, i use the "ibu jari kaki kanan" function..... it works well.... of course sometimes i grope down there with my fingers..... hehehehehe

ai yoooooo, thread dah salah jalan... but makes my day.:top::top:

well, one just need to get used to it and use whatever guide to get to the destination.

what forest? waaayyyy offtopic... :p

So basically to get the feel of the push button, I am think of sticking a small piece of Velcro on the surface. Will try it out this weekend and see how it goes (or feel).
