BMWE36 cannot start

Hi all,My car cannot start since yesterday's morning The engine rotates but fail to start.Meaning that the RPM went until more than 1k but immediately to zero. Please help.Thank you.Once a bimmer, a bimmer forever.

check the timing or knock sensor. It locate about 6" below the water pump. There is a wire connected to it. Will cost you about RM380 to 400 to replace.
FYI, when this sensor failed, it will cut the petrol and power to the ignitor (spark plugs)

hey i do have the same problem.

1st Start take long after started engine from 800rpm drop to 0
2nd start not too long after started same again 800 to 0
3rd attemp straight started and no problem

This symthom when engine get a little bit cold. Means after about 3-4 hour later car not driving this symthom will appear.

Mechanic check with computer.
It was my air flow sensor as given by the ECU communicator.
Service, recalibrate and reset air flow meter.
Now ok, hope can last.

Once a bimmer, a bimmer forever.

bad spark plug can cause hard start oso, once it start will hv vibration, but rpm will stable.
my car hv this problem, due to engine oil coated spark plug, badly worn oil ring ... need to open engine la.
