BMW vs Mercedes (which german brand is better?)

I search over the internet, eyeing on f10, but also check on w212, found out that Mercedes' market price is slightly higher
After dropping by some 2nd hand car dealer & recon car dealer, found out that most dealers prefer to sell & accept trade-in for Mercedes than BMW, reason given by them is they think Mercedes are less problematic thus give them less issue to deal with, not too sure if that's the conclusion from them after handling so many cars, or just a assumption without doing fact-check

No car is better than another. It’s just personal favorite or preference.

In terms of reliabilities and consistency.. over engineering... I know in my heart .. mercedes win hands down.. I don't say this with a feeling.. it's by number..

But I still prefer my BMW. To my humble experience.. Merc still drive like crap compared to BMW.. but if I were to buy a car for my mom.. absolutely the Merc...
