BMW Clubs Asian Umbrella meeting in Bali from the 15th to the 17th of July 2011.

On the 15th of July 2011, Asian BMW Clubs Chairman Mr Wong Kah Keen, BMW Motorad Club Malaysia President Mr Minesh Doshi and me represented Malaysia for the BMW Clubs Asian Umbrella meeting held in Bali, Indonesia. The purpose of this meeting was to establish a formation of an Official Asian Umbrella chapter ( with it's own constitution and bylaws ) in order to facilitate communication with the Council of BMW Clubs AG ( Germany ).There were other Asian Club Presidents at the meeting as well such as Mr.Radab Kanjanavanit - BMW CLUB Thailand , Mr.Peter Ho - BMW Club Singapore, Mr.Grattiano Deru - BMW Club Indonesia and the Chairman of the Council of BMW Clubs - Mr. Ian Branston.Some of the points disccused : -1) Usage of the BMW Roundel and the Wordmark ( BMW ) are strictly allowed only to be used by Official Clubs registered with the Council of BMW Clubs AG in accordance to their guidelines.2) BMW AG manages to communicate to it's consumers through the feedback it get's from the clubs therefore it's important that the clubs maintains communication and feedback with it's respective Umbrella.3) The Clubs are responsible as they represent BMW as the Ambassadors of the product.4) The current 12 asian Clubs to convene an AGM each year to discuss their respective club matters.5) A fee of USD100 per year will be required to be paid by each Asian Club for Administration Charges of the Asian Umbrella.6) The Asian Umbrella logo needs to be formulated accordingly.7) If a President is unable to attend an AGM, The club needs to appoint a delegate.Eventually there was a voting process for the Ammendmends to the Constitution with overall consensus reached. A good idea also for CMs to work with either forummers / OMs who want to plan other activities e.g drives, visits not necessarily under the purview of an official club activity as this would encourage more participation from the members...Gafas Rayban
