I juz want to share my recent experience. Whilst i was driving, a call came in to my mobile and i tried to turn down the volume using the steering controls, it didn't respond to volume control and also channel control. Then i tried on the main Head Unit and still it doesn't work. I stopped at the petrol station for some petrol and when i switched off the engine, the music was still on! Strange. When i got home the situation was still the same and therefore i made some calls and was advised to disconnect on of the battery terminals for 2 or 3 minutes. That worked and now the audio Head Unit seems to behaving itself. Weird. Anyone experienced this?

I havent had this problem but on my E60 525i, the A/C would remain on HIGH blast when i turned off the car.

And start back on, still high blast, turn off still high blast.

I just left it and 30 minutes later when i returned to the car after bak kut teh, it was off and that problem never surfaced again. :) That was a good 8 months ago so i guess you've got nothing to worry about? :D
