hi all.....i am thinking of getting this grey 323i LCi, pre reg from glenmarie, auto bavaria offer 239K for this pre reg 323i, it is a new car but registered already, if you take 1.88% loan package then price is 244Kthere is a used 2009 model going for 200K at ingress, 10000 kms and tip top condition. now i dont know if i should buy this used one and save 42K.

244K? OK price. It's still early 2011 anyway, so u do save on nearly 1 yr depreciation.
200K for the 2009 eh. If carry full warranty and BSRI, maybe this is better deal. Anyway, diff between the 2010 and 2009 version is only the paddle shift, if i m not mistaken.

IMHO, Rm40++k is a lot of money. If you can live with the fact that the car is one year old, with 10,000kms, not knowing who has driven the car whter they trashed it or not doesn't matter much coz you will not know. With the savings of RM40++k, you can use that savings and make sure you budget for it to be allocated when your Warranty & BSRI finishes to cater for the wear and tear parts. Even so, I dont think you will spend RM40k in total, hence, if you are an accountant, this point will be somewhat important factor to consider. Do note that, the car comes equipped with lots of electronic modules /gadgets such as comfort access, navigation with iDrive, HDD, etc...meaning, if the car was not taken cared properly in the early months, chances of wear & tear or equipment failing is higher than a newer car. The 2009 car would probably have a year or less than a year for the balance warranty. Do you want to take this risk? If you think the risk is outweighs the RM40++k savings, then, good on you. One plus point though, when you purchase this car at RM200k plus minus, your residual value/depreciation will not be as bad as brand new. Hence, you dont loose so much when you want to sell the car. But then again, if you intend to drive the car for at least 7yrs or more, then, do consider getting a newer car coz the depreciation don't matter so much and you would to maximize your "protection" (BSRI & Warr) as best as possible.

On the other hand, nothing beats the brand new smell of leather and the privillege of owning a new car (eventho pre-reg). Technically the car is brand new with zero mileage or with very low mileage. Nothing can beat this experience and feeling. But the question is, can you depart with RM40++k to get this novelty to enjoy? If it doesn't hurt you in anyway, pls need not hesitate...go for it. :)

i intend to keep the car for not more than 2 years if i buy the used one, and at least 5 for the pre reg.

yeah pay extra 42k and get new car smell, this experience is quite costly. the used one doesnt look like it has done 10000 kms......i'll see if the i can get a bit more discount from auto bavaria this weekend or not.....

Hi siuloong85, just wanted to check - what is the registration mth for the RM239k car? Also, is it the special edition, which they are advertising for their CNY
promotion?

Managed to get your ride yet?

BTW, 2009 model is considered 3-year old car already as it is 2011. Depreciation is normally calculated at 12% per annum by dealers, so the buying price by dealers around 180K. Thus, selling price by dealers would be around 200K. Thus, the price quoted by ingress is fair.

In life, you can't get everything your way... there is a compromise to be made somewhere along the line.. I got mine last time, a 3 mths old for RM40K less of sticker price with 2.8% int rate. It runs like new till today except ABS light ON a couple weeks ago at 85000km. Not bad for a 2 1/2 years old car. Still has no time to file a good will claim. Worst case, need to fork out my own +-RM9K. From others experience, this ABS tends to fail around that mileage. So don't worry, it will fail someday either way. Consider it as a bonus if it doesn't.... haha...

Hi Siuloong,

Would you be interested in a 325 msport E90 LCI 2009 model? Its Black sapphire with Saddle Brown interior. Mileage is at 16,000km+. I only use the car for the weekends. I'm planning to upgrade to the F10.
