I want to be your friend! Distress signal!!!! Tuut tuuut tuut!If u dont have BB also i want to be your friend.not a fan of independent GPS. i like it on my mobile.Distress signal!!!! Hi, if u r using Bold, try to download Google Maps. It works fine with me. It even locates & loads faster than my previous Curve 8310. And it's FREE! =)

Yeah. I use Google Maps on my Berry too. Quite reliable.

I've been known to be very bad with directions, but Google Maps got me from Johor Bharu to Fort Canning, Singapore with ease. Very detailed directions.

Only drawback is you actually have to READ the directions rather than have it point to where you're going in real time.

i'm so use t using mapking on a WinMob, and its voice navigation.
I still have my pda thou, maybe i'll reuse it back in the car as a GPS only.

i like preloaded maps.

will try to find a way to use garmin.

i found a few free GPS for BB.

nav4all - not too bad. give it a try.

I am not sure where we can source for this... but I read it from the GARMIN website

http://www8.garmin.com/mobile/blackberry/

Let me know if you managed to get it work as I am on BB Bold and BB Curve

Turn your BlackBerry into a savvy navigator with Garmin Mobile¹
Google Local Search gives you convenient access to Google's online information so you'll easily be able to find and navigate directly to your destination
Navigate while you communicate – When using your hands-free functionality, you'll never have to choose between taking a call and missing a turn
Get spoken turn-by-turn directions with coverage of North America and nearly 6 million points of interest
Includes dynamic online content — you’ll have access to weather and traffic information, current fuel prices, flight status and more²

I use the BB Curve and it's built-in Maps app (might have downloaded it, can't remember). I find it's quite ok and useful, especially when in an unfamiliar location (foreign countries usually). Because it's not real-time (you have to re-load it often) and you need to be in open space to use it (doesn't work indoors or in bad weather, at least not for me), I mostly use it only when I am in trip planning stage or when I am walking around and completely lost (when overseas).

I don't bother using it when driving (except maybe in the earlier pre-drive planning stage to gauge distances or plan routes).

New text:

Ummm... I just realized I read this thread but my brains didn't understand what I read... Feel so "doh!". Samharon ask about BB + mapking + garmin and I dunno why I reply about something different. I think I need more caffeine...

Just got hold of the javelin. I now come to realise the gps and bb maps are usless. It's taking forever to search for a satelite.

Someone please prove me wrong.

The bb garmin software costs almost as much as an independent garmin nuvi gps unit!
