Cabin Filter Installed Wrongly - Blocked and Wet
Pics of one of the F30 we did for cabin filter change.
As we extracted out the old cabin filter, we could see water building up at the cover and the cabin filter itself.
On closer inspection, we realised that the cabin filter was installed facing the wrong direction.
For such cases, the passengers would experience reduced airflow and perhaps even moldy smell.
Having the cabin filter facing the wrong direction, the side with the finer material will be used to filter out bigger pollutants such as dirt, pollen etc and gets clogged up in no time.
In this case, what we are seeing is the cabin filter getting wet itself.
Even though, we can't really say its due to the cabin filter or the aircon unit itself, we would always advise that preventive is better. Change your cabin filters regularly and make sure the installer installs it properly.
