Depends more on rim offset than tyre size really in your case because I am using 245/40/18 on the rear with my BBS with no problem. Some of the taiwan rims can be up to 30et offset. It is good to widen your track but you will need to roll in the fenders.

mine using 225/40/18 and 245/40/18. No rubbing at rear. Previour use 235/40/18 at front, got rubbing. Because front tyre shouldnt be wider than 225. Why? Because its turning left n right under the fender coz u steering it. Dats y the front rim mostly designed less wide than rear one. Rear one just rolling under fender..not to steer. In the case 245 at rear rubbing im not so sure Y. But must be something need to consider. My rear tyre should be change to 255/35 i think in order to get same diameter as the front. Does anyone knows any if front n rear got obvious different in diameter?

hy all,
4 touching or not touching, the rims & tyres 2b refered to. for ori m-sport should b no poblem using 225/40+255/35

mine come with 235/40/18 on all round.
no problem with 4 passengers + 1 driver.

Mine 18" Keskin Wheel

Hi All,

Just brought my Wheel, Fornt 18"x8,5J and Rear 18"x9.5J
Front Tire 225/40/R18 and Rear 245/40/R18
Rear Tire will rubbing the fender when rear passenger onboard.
So change it to 235/40/R18, still rubbing the fender...
What to do? try to avoid high speed cornering and slow down when there is a bump ahead..

Cheers...

Sometimes it is not about changing tire sizes. You have to make sure the rims are of the proper specifications. The witdh of the rim, offset, etc. Someone mention fitting a 9.5J rims and this is very wide rim for an E46.

Also what about the shock absorbers and springs? Are the worn out?

To put this into perspective. I had used 19 inches and have no rubbing issues but one of my bilstein absorbers were damaged and as temporary fix, the workshop put in a used original shock absorbers. I get my rubbing whenever i go through bumps but only on the side that was fitted with the original absorbers.

Get the car suspension properly diagnosed by the workshop and make sure your car can accomodate your rim spec.

stock absorber+eibach.. use 235/40/18 all around at my sedan E46.. rubbing at rear..
then i roll the fender. now, no problem at all... Cheers ;-)
