best manual gearbox for e30

salam n greetings... may i know what is the best manual gearbox for e30 in descending order,if more than one,and some explanation maybe?planning to source for one if price is ok n my budget allows..tq in advance... :-D

Salam, the best gearbox for m20 is surely the dogleg box. getrag 245 CR but expensive & hhard to come by, afforable gearboxes are Getrag 260 from 325 msport or getrag 240 from 320

IMHO, the best gearbox an E30 can have is a 6 speeder from the e36 M3........there were only 2 legendary E30s that had that conversion......the ever powerful Black Cat the other a Green Hornet

I have a E34/E36 5 speed Getrag 250 gearbox in my E30 mated with a 3.15 final drive... Smooth...

That has actually been trumped; There is a e30 with 2005 Euro E46 320D 6 speed with native M20 fitment driving around the bay area

The 2005+ and newer 320D ZF 6 speed is a direct fit to M20 engine in a E30
