Hi guys,For E46, when you're changing the battery, are there specific procedures during and and after changing the battery?I read in the E90 forum, need to change battery while engine running so that there is always power to the OBD.Is it the same for E46?Also what type of battery is recommended, MF or non-MF?Thanks

Hey Strider74,

There is no procedure to follow when changing the battery in E46, just remove and replace. E90 is a bit more advanced as there is a module that monitors the battery.

MF is recommended due to the placement of the battery which is not easily accessible and to also check for water levels.

Happy driving!

I'm using Varta Din100 around RM500

and when changing always remove the the -ve terminal first...and during installation -ve goes in last.

Which type would be minimum required to run the car assuming no additional voltage from ICE etc. required? DIN100 abit overkill? Was thinking maybe DIN66 or 88 cukup. :D
