Wanna ask... I was traveling alone along the Kinrara Golf Club this afternoon around 2:30p.m. and saw a white Toyota Alphard wearing a number plate ETA 888. Which state has the alphabet starting from "E"? BTW, ETA reminded me of "Estimated Arrival Time"... :)

E stands for east Malaysia, T for Tawau and A and is the order. If got ESA then it is from Sandakan. EJA is from Jesselton.

Speaking of odd number plates,

I came across a Myvi yesterday, with plates set out like D0 D6 T, not sure exactly what the numbers were, but I remembered it started with D, and was spaced in a way it had 2 gaps. Guess owner wanted to spell out something like DO DO L or something la.. Old reg plates from East M'sia too?

Thx bro. I thought the Tawau and Sandakan already have their own running alphabet? According to the below JPJ webpage at:
http://portal.jpj.gov.my/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=20&lang=ms

Tawau -> ST----R , Sandakan-> SS----P. Having said that, in West Malaysia, we only have one running first alphabet for each state. But in East Malaysia, we have one for every major district/city (eg. sibu, bintulu, miri). How come since we registered far more vehicles in west compared to east? Puzzle... :stupid:

Those number started with E were used before they changed it to S in Sabah state. The ones starting with E has now become collector item (sort of).

White plate with black number is the identity of the Klang Valley' taxi! Think the owner of the car is also the onwer of the taxi company... stay true to the identity :)
