Auto Transmission

My friend E39 has this problem, the transmission light came on and the car doesn't move except the RPM. The auto trans failure did not light up though. The car then move only slowly and he moves it to the roadside, switched off and the gears seem ok. Drove to the workshop with a diagnosis of gear slip and was reformated. Do u sifus out there have any similar problem n is there big repairs to come????

Tranny is time to change or overhaul..... I face the same problems last time...

sometimes the computer can goes wrong also... u drive again and see after reformated, or maybe just the solonoid spoilt.....
