Dear all,
If anyone is even THINKING of looking at the "1992 E30 cabrio" advertised in MT, please PM Tamade7 before you even go, ok?...
EuJax,
During a very heavy downpour..u know the ones where you cant see much even with wipers on at maximum speed... there are leaks from the top corners where the hood mates up to the bodywork. I suspect some rubbers need replacing but otherwise no leaks. I suppose each car will be different cos the condition of the rubbers will differ.
Cmpared to a normal enclosed car, yes it is noisier on the highways with the hood up. The E30 hood is single layer only, whereas the later e36 ones i think are double or triple layered. Anyway, since I have my hood down most mornings and evenings and I rarely am driving in the afternoons, its immaterial to me
I think whether the cars were galvanized or not depends on the year it was manufactured. In the saloons, I believe they started galvanizing with the facelift to plastic bumpers and new lights. However, the cabrios continued with the old lights and chrome bumpers until 1991 or 1992, but I believe they were still galvanized from when the line was facelifted, but I may be wrong. Certainly have no rust issues with my car at the moment.

If ever you wanna have a look at the car to get some idea, give me a shout..
