Gauges like oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, battery voltage? Are these easy to install?Where do u install them ? I wanted these to be inside the glove compartment, anyone done before? Also where to buy VDO ones? Thanks

my set of vdo sits on the gear console, below the onboard computer display.

i got mine through a friend in usa, so the measurement is in psi and fahrenheit.

they are easy to install but make sure they come with the senders.

try googling bmw vdo gauges

Apexi Boost 60mm on the steering column & AFR Autometer 52mm under the a/c control panel.

nice and neat!

Those who use Defi on top of the dashboard beware, they are theft magnets. Even my friend's Apexi boost meter was stolen when the car was parked outside the house and his driver's window was smashed in the process.

autometer is my favourite.....especially the autogage series those almost look like stock meters.....

if i plan to add only one oil temp., where should it put it that will not attract attention?

IMHO, the interior of a BMW should be kept clean form gauges.... ;)

Gauges are only appropriate if the car is powderful...IMHO. :p
u r wrong, gauge very suitable for underpower car and effective in scaring those powerful car :D

be careful when buying gauges to make sure they not from USA...this is because all their temperatures are in farenheit and not celcius!!

For me, I just want to know the condition of my car before it broke down, i.e. battery condition, fuel preassure etc. especially an old car like mine. :D

Well it does not matter if the gauges are for powerful cars or not. Gauges do provide a substantial amount of important info...be it for a leisurely drive or a spirited one. Everyone has the right to do what they want to their cars. Most importantly, it is to give a feeling of "Shiok" and happiness. Therefore, let us all TT tonight! :yahoo:
