Hi Fadhlan,

With regards to your PM, the logic for the air scoops is actually very simple.

By having the air scoops, while the vehicle is in motion, it is in fact creating a ram-air effect forcing more cold air into the engine.
Cold air is denser than warm air and holds slightly more oxygen.
The engine combustion is actually very simple, fuel+oxygen so the combustion process is more complete with increased oxygen levels.
hence, better efficiency.
the car should feel less sluggish with more cool air coming in....eg. maybe last time to hit 80km/h, u feel the car have to exert that amount of effort, now its like exert less effort to hit that.

it shouldn't make any difference at all in terms of power nor response. but definitely makes u "feel" that the car is faster psychologically in your mind. with temperatures in our climate soaring over 30 degrees, that extra air scooped going into your intake manifold is useless. in fact, that design of that air scoop seems to be blocking the top part of the air coming through from the kidney grilles which was meant to cool the radiator which would possibly increase water temp ?

There is more than enough air to cool the radiator n the scoops are only taking the minimal area if one bothers to look at it carefully. For the guys who have played with cold air intakes, they should understand the logic behind it.
If one drive fast with windows down, do u feel hot air in your face or does it feel cooler.
In addition, the temp in the engine bay is definitely way more than 30 degrees.
Different school of tots but u are entitled to yours.

hi Bimshop,

1 query, will this scoop up water during high speed in a downpour?

will have a bit but its minimal as only 2-3cm of it is exposed.
most of the moisture will be trapped in the filter and evaporate off due to the heat.
we too have our fair share of rain here in SG and most recently, the monsoon season for the past month.
so far we been selling this item coming to 2 yrs now, no complaints on this from bros who have did this mod.

I'll have 'em bad boys installed the next time I go down there. Keep a pair of red ones for me, will ya?
