how to find cheaper airflow meter n where?

Have you try to service them first?

Can try chop shop..previously bought mine RM300 fr thr, the performance as good as new....you need a bit of luck but it should be ok as most of the stuff import by chop shop are competent functional...it is commom problem of E36 air flow meter to give way...

wahh this item is becoming a major comodity part lorrr..

Some chop shops do have them but the price is unpredictable ...

have mine changed cuz have serviced it a few times and finally got myself a re-cond unit at RM300 /=

Hi guys,

Is it true that a new one will cost circa RM2.2k....what is the symptom of the air flow meter giving way....idle got problem....the rpm dancing up and down around the 0.9 to 0.5 level? I was told that a chop chop one will not last, as such better to pain once and for all. But will changing the meter solve the problem entirely?

yup, can service - but somehow it does not last ... happens to my M40.
