My first BMW nightmare has begun... :eek:Recently I have experienced a "tuk tuk tuk tuk tuk" klonking sound coming from the front bonnet area (325i E90).The abnormal sound does not occur all the time and most often when I drive over very small bumps (like the yellow lines). The "tuk tuk tuk tuk tuk" will then last for a 5 to 10 seconds and stops again until another small bump.It sounds LIKE (but obviously not confirmed) a piece of hard rubber gone loose and knocking against plastic part of the car.The sound came only AFTER I jack up the car (hydraulic lift) to inspect the bottom of my car, although we did not touch, remove or add anything.I was told that this happens because when you lift up the car and drop it... sometimes, somethings can come loose.Sifus, what are your advice?

Looks like something has came off from where it should be..give a thorough check if you can find something or send to a specialist..try driving with you window down if you can hear where exactly it comes from...for sure it doesnt sound so good so better dont drive fast till you get this rectified..

is yours a ckd/cbu?

Thanks, VKS.

Mine is CBU 05/07 brought in by AB.

Very hard to determine the exact location of sound. I only know it's from the front part of car.

Do you know any specialist?

have you tried asking your regular mech to check?? but makesure you are around during the whole process..some mechanics love strange problems as easier to bill you..or maybe authorised dealers.

Haha, I know a few of those mechanics you just mentioned.

I don't have regular mech, because I just bought the car from first owner. Previous owner sends to Dealer. I am reluctant to go to Dealer because I am afraid they will give me the usual "Leave your car with us for 3 days" answer. But I guess I will try asking anyway because my oil change is due soon.

Hi Will,

Definitely take it to Ingress for an inspection. What I have learn't in my 10 years of BMW ownership, is that a competent dealer like Ingress to maintain your BMW is much less headache vs. independent mechs. Long term you'll save $$$ and time.
