Hi everybody,I'm still having issues with my starter after changing to a recond unit a couple of days back.Managed to get a replacement Main Fuse (Fusible Link) box with new 80A main fuse as well.Unfortunately, still have intermittent problem starting the car (starter motor don't crank); especially when it's hot.Workshop (M-Speed, USJ) recommend that I try putting new grounding cables as the wires could be too old and can't carry the electricity well.Anybody done something similar? Recommendations?regards,LanceProblem similar to this:http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2556

Call Nathan, the ex-Naidu mechanic. I had something similar, he added a relay and viola.. settled! u pm wolverine.. they got a workshop now at near abx

Yeah ... forgot to mention ... i added a relay a couple of months back ... solved the problem - but came back ... that's why i changed the main fuse box, main fuse & start motor (recond)

My wireman blame the new recond starter motor ... sigh ... without looking at the car ... i have being pushed around like this ...

Do you have Nathan's number/contact info? Perhaps can PM me?

Thanx.

As for grounding, just measure yr -ve terminal and where the engine is. Go to some kedai machinery, get the welding machine thick wire and ask them to make the 2 end terminals for u based on the lenght. Then u screw it in yrself.. alot cheaper than wat u buy on the shelves, and better!

oh yeah ... i'm a fan of cheap & good as well ... will try this out.
