Hi Guys, Just been driving my UDM for the past 2 months. Been getting many types of info on the type of ATF oil. Pls help: What is the best type ? Price ? Who is the best mechanic to handle the gearbox ? Thanks guys.

you can use total. it is smooth and is about RM24 per litre. The original ATF is about RM60 per litre and you need 6 liters. call 0122888700- Ah Thai

Bavarian Auto sells the original ATF III (for 4 speed gearbox) oil for only RM26 per litre.

Thanks guys for the info, can you pls recommend any particular gearbox specialist. I have been to 3 different mechanics but all are contradicting on the health of my box.

Yes I think so and very jerky, can feel every gearchange and 3rd to 4th not just jerky but slipping feeling i think.

just change oil first. could be just bad oil.

Yup i am using Total for axle and atf. Smooth as ever. Change every 60k km or two year whichever comes first or better yet change every year. Better than having a kaput gearbox right?

Any idea how much they would charge for a gbox overhaul for a 318i E36. Mine is going too. Crap!!!!!

i don't know how much, but i do know they definitely have the tech guys to do it. I've done other regular things there and their workmanship is pretty good...
