Deal all,I'm currently looking into purchasing a 2nd hand UK Spec 330ci Cabriolet year 2000. The mileage is about 120,000 kms and the hydraulics are working fine for the roof. The engine sounds good and no check light on the meter panel. Some problem I can see is that the ICE is not working and the 2 buttons on the meter panel seems stuck.. Have not road test the car as Im still thinking on this one. Car has no mods.Is there anything that I need to look for for this model? You comments is highly appreciated.Thank you..

the buttons on the meter panel are stuck is an indication that the whole cluster has been removed for some reason...it is quite tricky to get the 2 buttons to slot in...so if the meter cluster was removed by an inexperienced person, this will be the case...cannot reset trip meter...

Thanks BMW9700... some how or rather both buttons are stuck.. can it be repaired? can the meter cluster be tampered to reduce the KMS? What else should I look into? The car sounds really good with the rumble it makes when idling.. too bad my E90 325 is soooooo quiet.. :(

That could be a possibility to reduce the mileage by unscrupulous parties.
To play safe, do a a thorough GT1 inspection at your trusted & friendly UDM garage as this would be vital to determine any faults that may be apparent with the ride. Apart from that, do not forget to inspect the undercarriage to check for leaks. Lastly, get your "mud guard" mate to ascertain whether the ride has undergone any major accidents & to ensure the chassis is status quo. That's pretty much it.

As for the "rumble" sound of the M54 wait till you listen to the symphony conducted by the S54 / E46 M3 powerplant :top: It'll simply mesmerize & blow your mind away.

Cheers & Good luck in your quest in scouring your E46 330Ci Vert machine.

God bless & regards,

Wakakaka .... that's a good one bro :top: To the OP bring it to a reputable BMW workshop and have it checked or you could bring the car to the dealers i.e. Ingress Auto or Sapura BMW and have them check everything tho may cost you a bit but you can be sure it will be thorough. Another thing is to get the VIN number which is located on the front bonnet (driver side) and write down the last 7 digits and put it into www.realoem.com to verify the year and model ...

Well, I'd strongly recommend that you refrain from the said ride as I honestly believe that it would be highly detrimental & even catastrophic to your finances. Unless, money ain't a thang for ya. Comprende?

Cheers bud!

it is an easy thing to do...just take out the whole cluster and put it back properly....neet to align the buttons and see if it works before fixing it in

Ok thanks guys for the tips and word of caution. Still have not decide as we're not in a hurry. I guess the weekend car project can still wait..

No worries, matey :top: Just take it easy as I'm sure the right M54 coupe would come along in due course.
